I went to the poetry reading Wednesday night with Tiffanny and Ms Stella. They held it at the Elks Lodge on the west side. We didn’t know what to expect going into it (other than poetry). I came out of it feeling like I had been introduced to an entirely new vibe here in Vegas.
Among the talents that I met tonight was this young lady right here. Nakachi is on fire and her poetry was deep. I was feeling her. Not to mention the fact that her commentary while other poets were up kept me laughing all night long.
I did the chocolate cookie piece and I think they dug it. It was hard to tell. There was a bright ass light shining directly on me, making sweat break out on my forehead. Maybe I was nervous. I couldn’t tell if I was reading too fast or too slow. A few people told me they would never look at cookies the same way again.
I was let in on the fact that there are a lot more poetry readings around town. There is one near my house every Friday night except the third Friday of the month and I am going out to support my people in art.
Black Reign did a sexy poem about crawling all over the kitty cat. Meow!

I want to go to some poetry readings!!! I am so trying to get to Def Poetry and see that shit live.. I am so fascinated by poetry now. I really admire people who are creative and lyrical(?) enough to do poetry. That is one talent I wish I had..

Oh yeah Nique.. Just wanted to tell you.. I think it is because of the size of the pics for this post but I can't see your far right column.. The middle column is covering it up now.. It wasn't like that before so that is why I think it is because of your pics in this post.. ;)
