The weekend was a wild mix of alcohol, lap dances, lounging by the pool in oversized chaise lounges, staying up late, going to work on 3 hours of sleep, taking long naps and watching “The Wire” twice in one night because it was that damn good.
When Jaime jumps up and starts shaking it on the dance floor, there is really no way you can stop her. She’ll shake everything she’s got (and a few things she ain’t got) to the rhythm of the music. She’ll give lap dances to the people in our group who seem like they aren’t having a good time. This is her way of getting the party started. Unfortunately, she was just too cool for the crowd.
There were crowds of people at the Whisky Bar on Friday night. Long after the KLUC Beach Party was over, people stood around in circles conversing and laughing. We stayed around the pool initially, not wanting to move from our comfortable positions in the overstuffed lounges. These lounges are the size of queen size beds. The four of us were completely stretched out on them, two to a bed. The people milled around us, background noise to our girl’s night out.
We were up dancing with her, laughing and enjoying the atmosphere. Most of the crowd seemed to be living their club experience vicariously through us. They would not get up and dance. A couple of people came by where we were gathered, offering to trade places with her latest lap dance victim. Those were the brave ones. Everyone else just watched from across the room and pretended they weren’t staring even though they really were.
In my circle of friends I am known as the one who knows the lyrics to every song. Add my impromptu performances of Run DMC’s “It’s Like That” and Pharcyde’s “Passing Me By” to the mix of Jaime dancing and you have our rendition of Club MTV, only cooler.
People began to spread out a little bit, giving us more room to perform. Tiffanny and Jaime gave Qiana a tag team lap dance that elicited some hoots and cheers from the men.
We weren’t even drunk.
We tried to crash the VIP, but they had it on lockdown. I took the bouncer’s card and promised the group that next time we would make reservations for the VIP. The big bed is in the middle of the VIP, right in front of the fireplace.
Our routines will be so much better when we have the big bed to work with.
“The Wire” was so good last night. I’m glad I have another show to take the place of “Oz” since I only managed to yawn through half the episodes of “The Sopranos” last season. While “Sex and the City” is good, it doesn’t give me the underground crime drama that I need. If you aren’t watching this show, you need to be. On Friday they will be rerunning the first three episodes of this season starting at 8pm on HBO.
Handle it, yo.
