So skimming over Jason's page, I was reminded of something I meant to do a few days ago but never got around to it.
There is a certain white woman in Texas who would have us all believe that there is no inherent racism, except in the minds of people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who are using this "ruse" to further their careers. Bitch, please. I'm going to make your new vocabulary phrase for today institutionalized racism. Study it. Understand it. Know it. Because it exists in every milky white glass ceiling professional blacks have encountered in white corporate America. It exists in every college that has an affirmative action admissions committee because they know their shit is raggedy and they don't have enough minority students admitted. It exists in situations that allow us to keep giving Robert Downey Jr a slap on the wrist no matter how many times he puts that glass dick to his mouth but punish Big Baby Jesus for doing the same sorts of things.
I was going to go on a long rant but you know what? Um forget it. I'm not going to let my head explode. You won't see my page turning all pink with hello kitties and shit.

I clicked on the link for the girl's page and I have to agree with you. Her head's gotta be stuck in her ass for her not to see all this that's BEEN going on around her. ESPECIALLY in Texas! I'm wondering if she grew up in a box with nothing but White men around her for her to think like that. I mean honestly, she speaks on behalf of all White people, how seriously can she be taken?
I've been following her antics since I read Jason's entry the other day, the first link to her. And I can't help but wonder if she even KNOWS a Black man because if she did, she wouldn't be so hellbent on convincing the rest of the world that discrimination (even in its rawest form) is simply based on how clean your hair is, and how far down your pants hang. At one time or another in a Black man's life he is subjected to unfair treatment BECAUSE he is a Black man. And hey, if she doesn't want to believe that, then whatever, she doesn't know.
Personally, I think that she may just have a need for attention, she may just want that title so that she can call herself going against the grain, "un-P.C.", and that's why she's acting up. I mean she isn't open-minded at all, and it wouldn't take that much but for her to open her eyes and SEE the world for what it is. Maybe hang out with a more diverse group of friends so that she can get a better look at things. Instead of the group that's reinforcing this bullshit.

Anyway. I have spent the last week or so actually thinking about the responses I have gotten from black people regarding my rants. I like to learn.
First. I never said institutionalized racism does not exist. I know that it does, to an extent unknown to me. I also never used the word "ruse" in regard to Al and Jesse. They believe what they believe. I just think they're wrong a lot of the time.
I suppose I should have said in my rant that there is no inherent, secret or blatant racism "in every white person or institution." Not clarifying that just might make it sound like I don't think racism exists on this planet. I just might even go write that into the rant right now.
Also, the existence of a glass ceiling or too few minorities in college does not equal "white men have advantages". Some white men do, of course. My particular white men do not. They don't know any white men in power and they don't have money. I think that the advantages people see white men receiving have more to do with their connections and wealth than the fact that they're white and ONLY that fact.
You're right about Downey Jr by the way. He's gotten such a free ride it's not even funny anymore. Actually it never was funny.

What I find weird is I work for a company that is black (woman) owned, and almost 50% of the workforce are black women. Yet, there is not one black man employed there. Is there a component of racism integrated with their sexism?
