So the season is over for Philadelphia. I’m glad. As I said to Jason the other night, I’m tired of all the AI hype. I’m not hating on him because y’all know he’s my other baby’s daddy but at the same time shut up about him already. Besides, it’s refreshing to see a team like Boston pull it out. Their challenge now is facing Detroit. With neither team having playoff experience, it will be interesting to watch how this turns out. I’m putting my money on the Celtics. Stackhouse is only one man and he can’t make the Pistons win all by himself. Besides, 5 points in game 5? Even though they won I’m agreeing with Charles Barkley who said we need to send the FBI out and find the real Stackhouse and make him play the game. We will just have to wait and see. I have to give Boston props though for blowing Philly out of the water. It’s also worth noting that they beat the Pistons in every meeting they had with them this year. I see them coming out strong in this series and facing Charlotte for the east. I predict a sweep.
Charlotte took T-Mac and the rest of the Orlando Magic to the hole and left them there. Now they will face the New Jersey Nets who dominated them in all their meetings this season. I still have faith that Charlotte is going to come out the winner in this series. In their first meeting with the Magic in round one I was skeptical but then they pulled it out in the next three games and I was impressed. Charlotte is hungry and they have the fire. All I’m saying is New Jersey and Jason the Kidd better watch out. I think the Hornets can take the Nets in 5.
This brings us to the Western Conference match ups. I’ll start with the Kings and the Mavs and save my team for last.
The Dallas Mavericks have really come out this season. They put a hurting on the Kings every time they met this season. They swept Minnesota during the first round and I hope they will end Sacramento’s season early as well. Sacramento needs to really show up if they want to have a chance in this series. I am predicting another sweep for Dallas.
The San Antonio Spurs showed us how hard it is for them to play without Tim Duncan. Now that he’s back in stride again they seem to be rejuvenated. I’d say that we might go five games except they are playing without David Robinson which means they only have one tower. My Lakers are going to dominate this series. During the regular season they won one of our four meetings. We all know the Lakers are the best so I won’t bore you with a long diatribe when I can say it in seven words – We are going to tap that ass.
